City Wants To Change Speed Limits

The Lawrenceburg City Commission has proposed several speed limit changes for city streets.
Lawrenceburg Mayor Keith Durham told WDXE News that he "drove around the city checking on the speed limits and felt like some changes needed to be made."
The Mayor said that the completion of the four-lane on North Locust will allow the city to make several changes.
Proposed changes include:
Highway 43 from Hood Lakes Road to Plummer Street – 45 miles per hour.

Highway 43 from Plummer Street to Remke Lane – 35 miles per hour.

Highway 43 from Remke Lane to the city limits - 45 miles per hour.

Around the Lawrenceburg Public Square and one block in all directions – 20 miles per hour.

East Gaines Street (U.S. Highway 64) from Springer Road to the eastern city limits – 35 miles per hour.

Old Florence Road and South Military Avenue to the city limits – 30 miles per hour – except as otherwise indicated by signage for dangerous curve.

Fall River Road – 35 miles per hour – except as otherwise indicated by signage for dangerous curve.

West Taylor Street, west of South Military Avenue, through Gallaher Boulevard – 20 miles per hour.

Springer Road – 35 miles per hour.

West Point Road – 35 miles per hour – except as otherwise indicated by signage for dangerous curve.
